As entrepreneurs, we must always be upleveling our mindset if we want to reach our goals and dreams. Especially in the current global situation in which we find ourselves. If we’re not careful, we can easily allow ourselves to give in to fear and anxiety about all the uncertainty in the world. Not only does this compromise our emotional wellbeing, but it can attract to us the very things we don’t want.
“For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.” (Job 3:25 NKJV)
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)
If we don’t intentionally program our mind for success and stay focused on our goals and dreams, we can let uncertainty cause us to unconsciously buy into a scarcity mindset.
We must always remember that in any given situation, we always have a choice in how we respond to circumstances happening around us. No one and nothing outside of ourselves can control our emotions. Only we ourselves have ultimate control over our emotions. I think sometimes we forget that because we allow ourselves to get triggered by events and situations.
Viktor Frankl, Austrian Psychiatrist, Holocaust Survivor and author of Man’s Search for Meaning describes the ability to choose one’s response in any given circumstance as one of the last human freedoms. He says,
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
The fact is that we will come out of this crisis, eventually. We will get back to business. Although, it probably won’t be business as usual. We will need to adjust to a new normal. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

It might mean having to learn new skills as we embrace technology more. It might mean adjusting our messaging in order to stay relevant with our audience. It might mean stepping up our connection skills so we can be in high service to our prospects and clients.
Some entrepreneurs are worried about losing out on business because they think no one can afford to buy anything. The reality is that some industries are doing just fine. There are people and companies who are NOT struggling. There are people who are looking for what we have to offer. And, those people are willing to pay our fees if our programs and offers provide massive value and the solution to their problem. It may mean that we have to pivot our marketing message to reach our target audience.
For entrepreneurs, mindset is a highly valuable asset. During times of uncertainty, we need to be intentional about safeguarding this asset because it’s our mindset that carries us through when times get tough. That’s why as an entrepreneur, we must always uplevel our mindset.
